Child Right Advocate and Executive Director of Youth in Action for Peace YAPE, Satta Fatumata Sheriff, was among top notch women celebrities honored at the Second edition of the Liberty Young Achiever LYA Awards Night held in the Ballroom of the Monrovia City Hall on 1st Street, Sinkor.
The former President of the Liberian Children Parliament received the glamorous Award on Wednesday Night, when She was awarded as the Most Prominent Youth Advocate of the year in the female Category.
Just moment before the announcement the 21-year-old dressed in Colorful nice looking dress was up against stiff competition from fellow female advocates Tuzee Toure, Sianah Naliia Deshield, Hellen Momoh and Priscilla George for the Award, while the Male Prominent Youth Advocate Award went to Beyan Flomo Pewee, the Executive Director of Annual Youth Education and Empowerment AyeeSumit19.
Celebrating her Award Satta Sheriff, worn smiles on her face as she appreciated her fans and dedicated the Award to girls with dreams and she cautioned Liberian to uphold peace in the midst of the growing struggle and tension within the Country.
Sheriff then congratulated the Liberty Young Achievers LYA awards family for a Job well done, by exposing and bringing the dreams of young Liberian entrepreneurs to reality, she also acknowledge young people and teenage girls to follow suit.
"I have been through a lot, but kept my head up and whether through storm because I know some little girls somewhere are dreaming like me, she added.
Also receiving honored at the Liberty Young Achievers LYA awards night was District 9 Representative Munah Plenum Youngblood as Outstanding Young Political Icon of the Year Award, while Charlyne Brumskine, the Managing Attorney and founder of CMB Law Group, LLC and daughter of famous Liberian politician Charles Brumskine of opposition Liberty party was awarded the Most influential personality of the year Female, while Liberia international Movies Star Korto Davies took home the Best Movies Star Award.
Others top women Awardees include Kimberly Toure of the Turmasi Construction International Company, won the Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the female Category, while Benita Urey the daughter of political icon Benoni Urey, received the Outstanding Blogger of the Year Award, Joy chichi Onos of the Monrovia City Cooperation MCC won the Outstanding Corporate Young Personality of the Year in the female category.
Meanwhile, other award recipients are Montserrado County Senatorial Candidate Dr. Kimmie Weeks as the Most influential personality of the year in the male category, Sekou Kalasco Damaro, Special Aid to the President, won the Most Exceptional Young Personality in Government, while Victor George of Coca-Cola Bottling Company won the Outstanding Corporate Young Personality of Year in the Male category and Front page Africa Liberia Editor Leenart Dodoo won the Outstanding Journalist of the Year Award.
Journalist Dodoo went against the Daily Observer Reporter Robin Dopoe, Moses Garzeawu of VOA Matina Brooks of Sudanese Broadcast Radio, formerly of UNMIL Radio and Emmanuel wise Jipoh of Women voices Newspaper, formerly of the insights Newspaper to the prestigious award.
Ezypain won the best Comedian and famous artist Bucky Ross, took home the Best Musician LYA Award 2019.
The LYA team also recognized best Corporate entities, including the award for Best Hotel, Most Reliable Bank and the Most follow news and Social television among others.
The United Bank for Africa UBA won the Most Reliable Bank award, Boulevard Hotel took away the Best Hotel of the Year and Monrovia City Corporation Television MCC TV, as the most follow News and Social Media television.
In a brief remark, Liberty Young Achiever Coordinator Fred Ola Ola, appreciated the awardees and pledged the LYA commitment to acknowledge the work of enterprising young Liberian personalities and entities that have scored mark in improving and promoting the country developmental agenda.
He added that the LYA will continue to promote the work of young Liberian achievers.
The theme of the awards was: be a pillar to defend the unity of Mama Liberia -not to be caterpillar to disrupt the peace and it was the Second edition of the Liberty young achiever LYA award.
The Liberty young achievers LYA awards has been in existence as the Liberia Youth Award since 2017 and launched it first edition on June 30,2018 but had transformed to the Liberty Young Achiever LYA Awards, due to mandate from the Government that no corporate entity can own or host event bearing the Name "Lone Star or Liberia.
The LYA team also honored inspector General of Commerce Ministry Josephine W.A Davies for her exceptional performance in keeping the Dignity and standing for the interest of Liberians, while the Director of the National Port Authority NPA, Bill Twehway received outstanding male individual Award.
